About This Career Opportunity:
The Janitor is responsible for deep floor cleaning and other janitorial services. Prepares apartments for occupancy. Cleans wheelchairs and appliances. Moves and arranges furniture and provides set up for meetings and services.

Are You Qualified?:
General Requirements

Cleared Criminal Record clearance through the Department of Social Services prior to presence in the community.

Working knowledge of Title 22.

Health screening and TB test results not older than 6 months.

Must possess effective English verbal and written communication skills with the ability to successfully work in a multi-cultural environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Cleaning & Janitorial ServicesPerforms deep cleaning and janitorial services in common areas, kitchen, exterior of the building and resident apartments. In a safe and appropriate manner, performs scheduled floor maintenance in assigned areas which includes shampooing carpets, scrubbing, stripping and polishing floors. Uses appropriate caution and safety signs while performing work. Apartment MaintenanceCleans apartments, resident rooms, dining areas, lounges, corridors, showers/tubs, bathrooms, offices, and all other areas of the community, following standard cleaning procedures. Is detailed and thorough in work habits. Follows through on special requests and non-standard items. Performs routine self inspections of work to ensure quality. Responds to calls on pager as appropriate. Works EfficientlyWorks efficiently. Responds to work order requests and to the scheduled cleaning calendar in an orderly and logical way. Ability to prioritize routine tasks versus immediate needs. Ancillary CleaningCleans wheelchairs, scales, windows, refrigerators, and all other items as requested, deodorizing and disinfecting using appropriate devices and following safety and other guidelines. Understands and practices Infection Control procedures and safety guidelines. Moves FurnitureMoves furniture and equipment, such as tables and beds, in order to clean and to maintain tidy, appropriate furniture arrangements. Sets up and arranges tables and other furniture for special meetings and events. Understands and follows procedures for lifting and moving heavy objects. Emergency PreparednessKnowledgeable in emergency procedures for general disasters, such as elevator failure, floods, earthquake or fires. Safety ProtocolsFollows safety protocols for storage and use of chemical equipment. Does not leave equipment unattended. Reports damaged, broken, or missing equipment.
