Job Summary:
The Cybersecurity Engineer is a critical member of information Technology (IT) Department and serves in a supervisor capacity to the Cybersecurity Analyst. This position will report to the Director of IT. Responsibilities will include network security analysis, monitoring and incident response, as well as maintenance and configuration of network security tools. Additionally, the Cybersecurity Engineer will work with the Director of IT to mature the Information Security Plan, maintain all Cyber Security Policies and Procedures, etc.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
Manages and mentors team members of the Cybersecurity team.

Collaborate with team members to resolve cyber threats

Ensure all tickets from analyst(s) are followed up with to minimize risk.

Coordinates with the 24x7 Security Operations Center for all incident issues and delegate tasks

Performs annual reviews for direct reports

Works closely with the Director of IT to ensure all policies and procedures are being maintained

Performs network security monitoring and incident response for all MCRS connected networks and devices

Records and responds to information security incidents

Maintains records of security monitoring and incident response activities

Monitors and analyzes Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)

Creates, modifies, and updates IDS, IPS, and SIEM rules

Recognizes potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises thorough reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information

Evaluates and deconstructs malware

Analyzes large sets of data in order to discover indications of compromise

Assists with implementation of counter-measures or mitigating controls

Creates and maintains Standard Operating Procedures as they relate to Cybersecurity

Consolidates and conducts comprehensive analysis of threat data

Performs other job related duties as assigned

Stay updated on the latest security trends, technologies, and vulnerabilities to proactively address emerging threats.

Provide guidance and training to staff members on cybersecurity best practices and policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training team members; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.

Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

Qualifications:
Required experience:

Bachelor degree in IT related discipline or equivalent experience

8+ years of Information Technology experience

5+ years of experience of full-time information security related experience

3+ years’ experience supporting enterprise networks and/or large data center environment

3+ years’ design and implementation of layer2/layer3 routing and switching on Cisco IOS or Data Center products.

Management experience

Working knowledge of application & infrastructure security solutions (Firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, Network Security, Password Management, Data Encryption, and Access Control)

Cisco LAN/WAN hardware and Cisco/ firewall experience

Preferred experience:

IT technical or engineering

Network security auditing

Configuring routers, switches and firewalls

IOS model with experience in layers 1-3 and associated protocols

VMWare Servers, Windows, SQL, Linux, Unix, networks, telephony (including VoIP), cable infrastructure, virtual machines

Ability to prioritize competing work assignments and initiative to complete tasks

Experience with vulnerability testing

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

CEH, CISA, CISM, Security+, ISSEP, GIAC, GSEC, CISSP, or other security certifications preferred

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency. Must be authorized to work in the US without VISA sponsorship.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures and instructions given in English. Must be able to write grammatically correct reports and correspondence in English. Must have the ability to communicate interpersonally and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, team members, guests and the general public.   

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Calculate figures and amounts such as ratios and percentages.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Must have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Troubleshooting ability consists of defining problems, collecting data, testing potential solutions, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work involves frequent sitting, standing, walking and crouching or kneeling, reaching with arms and using the hands to manipulate, feel and enter data by frequent and sustained use of keyboard and mouse. Requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented and ever-changing environment. Requires the ability to maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Requires the ability to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while interacting effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts. Requires the ability to speak and hear. Vision abilities required by this job typically include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a fast paced work environment and the position requires the ability to cope with it. The casino has moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment. 

 

WORKING HOURS:

Because we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, most positions require flexibility in scheduling and may require team members be available for evenings, weekends, holidays and special events. A typical workweek is 40 hours and normal work schedules may vary based on business needs and may include scheduled shifts Monday through Sunday. Position may require overtime.
