The Manager, Integrated Transitional Care Manager Quality & Training reports to the Integrated Transitional care Director and is responsible for collaborating with other Integrated Transitional Care (ITC) managers and staff within the department, in addition to other units outside of ITC such as, but not limited to, Hospital Relations and Provider Relations. The main objective of this role is to ensure the proper functioning of the training and quality management aspects within ITC. The focus is on implementing timely, highly regulatory changes and providing training, tools, and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards, all while ensuring audit readiness.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience

Five (5) or more years of relevant experience in leadership in health care including two (2) years of experience in Managed Care

Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution required.

In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, one of the following applicable scenarios may be considered:

 

Candidate with an active, unrestricted, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the California BRN without a Bachelor’s degree will require four (4) years of additional relevant work experience. This experience is in addition to the minimum years listed in the Experience Requirements above.

Candidate with an active, unrestricted, and unencumbered Vocational Nurse (LVN) license issued by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians without a Bachelor’s degree will require six (6) years of additional relevant work experience. This experience is in addition to the minimum years listed in the Experience Requirements above.

In lieu of the required degree and if no clinical licensure is held, a minimum of eight (8) years of additional relevant work experience is required for this position. This experience is in addition to the minimum years listed in the Experience Requirements above.

 

Internal Candidates Only:

 

In lieu of the required degree, a minimum of five (5) years of IEHP work experience is required for this position. This experience is in addition to the minimum years listed in the Experience Requirements above.

Minimum possession of an active, unrestricted, and unencumbered Vocational Nurse (LVN) license issued by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians required.

 

 

 

 

Key Qualifications

 

The Manager of Quality and Training in Integrated Transitional Care must possess a broad and deep knowledge base inclusive of:A thorough understanding of healthcare regulations and standards such as those from NCQA, DMHC, DHCS, and CMS, coupled with insights into integrated transitional care principles to enhance patient transitions and outcomes.

Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) and training strategies grounded in adult learning principles is essential for developing effective programs.

Proficiency in project management, data analysis, and performance evaluation is crucial for overseeing projects and driving data-informed decisions.

Change management techniques and risk management strategies to navigate the complexities of healthcare delivery.

Awareness of ethical and legal considerations in healthcare and a commitment to staying updated on industry trends are vital for ensuring compliance and fostering continuous improvement.

Training and development, grounded in adult learning principles and effective instructional design, is critical for crafting and implementing training programs that are both engaging and impactful.
