Responsibilities:
The Orthopedic Unit at Mercy offers exceptional and excellent care to adults recovering from foot and ankle surgery; orthopedic and neurosurgical spine surgery; shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand surgery; hip and knee surgery; sports medicine; joint replacement and reconstruction surgery. We are known for superior clinical outcomes and rank in the top two percent of hospitals nationwide. From 2019 to 2021, we have been recognized by Healthgrades as “America’s 100 Best Hospitals” and “100 Best Hospitals for Orthopedic Surgery.” We were also recognized by US World News as “High Performing in Hip Replacement and Knee Replacement” in 2021.  Our orthopedic surgeons lead surgical advances offering cutting edge technology and minimally invasive procedures. The orthopedic unit focuses on outstanding outcomes through collaborative care and a team centered approach to recovery and enhanced quality of life. Through our nationally accredited shared governance structure, our Registered Nurses are an integral part of the interdisciplinary decision-making process at Mercy.  In addition, Mercy's Registered Nurses have been recognized three times by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Magnet organization.

Qualifications:
A diploma/degree from an accredited nursing school (a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, or agreement to enroll within six months of employment).

A Registered Nurse license to practice in Maryland or the ability to obtain a Maryland license based on timeframe of licensing board.

New nurse graduates considered with practicum, or technician experience in acute care. One - two years of clinical nursing experience strongly preferred.

Healthcare Provider-Level CPR certification.
