Old Mill Boarding Kennel & Grooming has an opportunity for a

Temporary Experienced Groomer to join our team 

 

Location:  91 Lawson Rd. SE, Leesburg, VA  20175

 

Shift Details: This is a Temporary Part - Time position (under 30 hours/week), working Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  7:30am until all grooms are complete.

 

Pay Range:  Commission Based; 50% Commission 

 

What We Are Looking For:  We are a busy Grooming Salon in Leesburg, VA.  The ideal candidate must possess the ability to groom all breeds and must supply their own grooming tools

 

Job Summary: The Groomer is a key member of Mission Veterinary Partners (MVP) hospital support team.  Groomers form a crucial part of MVP, building lasting relationships with customers and providing quality care to pets. Groomers perform various grooming duties necessary to improve each pet’s hygiene and enhance their physical appearance. They bathe, brush, and dry pets, clean their teeth and ears, as well as trim their nails and hair/fur. 

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:

 

Maintain and uphold Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP. 

Admit pets to be groomed noting owner’s specific instructions, contact information and pick up time. 

Bathing, brushing, heavy lifting, shaving and scissor trimming of pets to be groomed. 

Ear cleaning, plucking, nail trimming, and expression of anal glands. 

Provide medicated (when instructed) and general cleansing, parasite control baths, pedicures, medicated dips (when instructed) and ear cleansing, as required for each pet. Perform all general maintenance of grooming room and yard; clean and disinfect cages, tubs, grooming tables, and yard at least once daily; vacuum floor; mop floor; empty trash; clean clipper blades, scissors, and brushes after use; perform monthly dryer and clipper maintenance. 

Qualifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

 

Advanced knowledge in pet grooming & canine health. 

Excellent customer service skills. 

Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to successfully perform the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position. 

A minimum of 2 years of previous grooming experience is required.
