The Barber Lab Assistant Sub: Subs for Barber faculty with teaching duties in the classroom and laboratory. 

 

This is a part-time position of 19 hours or less per week with an hourly salary of $26.00 per hour.   

 

 

 

Responsibilities:
75% Uses knowledge of barbering, cosmetology, nail technology and facial/esthetics technology to assist faculty members in the classroom and laboratory as directed.

20% Monitors classroom and laboratory and assists students to ensure they are following directions given by Cosmetology faculty.

 5% Performs others duties as assigned by the Director of Cosmetology.

Assesses student knowledge, skills, and abilities regardless of how or where the learning and skills were acquired.

Collaborates with the Grayson College faculty.

Participates in professional development and stays current in both the professional field and in current teaching/learning best practices.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Cosmetology Program Director.

Qualifications:
Expected Qualifications:

Class A Barber license.

Two years of verified experience as a barber.

Two to four years' experience in a community college setting is preferred.

Must have demonstrated ability to engage students in the learning process and proven commitment to student success.

Must maintain a collegial attitude with college community as well as outside entities.

Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments.

Must have the the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
