ProspectBlue is hiring a Controller for a well-established company in Petersburg, VA A well-established company in the Petersburg, VA area is seeking a Controller to oversee accounting operations and financial reporting. This is a hands-on leadership role for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, transaction-heavy environment. Responsibilities
* Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger
* Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
* Manage month-end and year-end close processes
* Ensure compliance with industry accounting standards and manufacturer reporting requirements
* Develop and monitor internal controls
* Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy
* Supervise and mentor accounting staff
* Manage relationships with external auditors, tax preparers, and financial institutions
* Analyze departmental profitability and provide actionable insights to management Qualifications
* 5+ years of accounting experience, with prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience preferred
* Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
* Excellent leadership and communication skills
* High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
