experienced Pet Groomer/Pet Stylist
or interested in becoming a
Grooming Apprentice
, we’d love to meet you.
If you already have professional grooming experience, bring your skills and help pets look and feel their best. If you’re new to grooming but eager to learn, we’ll provide hands-on training and development to help you build a career as a professional groomer.
What You’ll Do
Depending on your experience and training level, you may:
- Bathe, brush, dry, clip, and style dogs
- Perform nail trims and other basic grooming services
- Groom to breed standards or customize styles based on pet parent requests
- Learn professional grooming techniques, tools, equipment, and breed standards
- Safely handle dogs of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments
- Make pet safety, comfort, and well-being your top priority
- Provide friendly, neighborly service to pet parents
- Build relationships with clients and help grow your grooming book
- Recommend products and services based on each pet’s needs
- Keep the grooming salon clean, safe, and organized
- Support the store team during grooming downtime
- Continue developing your skills and growing your grooming career You May Be a Great Fit If You
- Love working with dogs and people
- Are comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment (including water, fur, and active pets)
- Have strong attention to detail and a focus on safety
- Enjoy learning new skills and are open to coaching and feedback
- Have experience in animal care, veterinary clinics, pet boarding, or daycare environments
- Background as a Veterinary Technician, Vet Assistant, Animal Care Technician, Kennel Assistant or Pet Care Specialist
- Interest in growing into a Pet Groomer or Dog Groomer role
- Patience, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm to guide nervous pets Experience Experienced Groomers: Professional pet grooming, dog grooming, or pet stylist experience is required. Experience with breed-standard cuts, clipping, hand scissoring, finishing techniques, animal behavior, and safe handling is a plus. Grooming Apprentices: No professional grooming experience is required. Previous experience in pet care, veterinary clinics, boarding, daycare, retail, or customer service is a plus. We’re looking for someone who is motivated to learn and interested in developing into a professional Pet Groomer. Requirements And Responsibilities
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in pet care, animal handling, retail, or customer service is a plus, but not required
- Ability to lift, move, and handle pets or equipment up to 65 lbs
- Ability to stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods
- Ability to learn through hands-on training and online grooming coursework
- Comfortable using grooming tools and salon equipment (training provided)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be 18+ years old and able to meet hiring requirements set by the local franchise owner This location is independently owned and operated by a franchise owner.
