Director – Land Development and Finance
Quantum Capital | Phoenix, Arizona | Full-time
Quantum Capital is seeking a hands-on leader to manage financial operations and support land development projects. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting and finance experience, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to work independently and recommend practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounting, financial reporting, monthly close, and internal controls across multiple entities; oversee accounting staff.
- Develop and manage operating and development budgets, tracking spending, committed costs, costs to complete, and variances.
- Maintain 90-day cash forecasts and long-term projections for project funding, capital needs, and distributions.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, municipalities, utilities, and advisors to advance land development projects.
- Monitor entitlements, infrastructure requirements, project schedules, milestones, and risks.
- Build financial models and evaluate acquisitions, development options, project phasing, financing, and land sales.
- Support debt, equity, joint venture, and public bond financing, including draw requests and lender reporting.
- Track investor contributions and distributions and provide ownership with clear recommendations on project performance, liquidity, and financial risks. Qualifications
- Strong accounting and finance background with direct land development or real estate investment experience.
- Working knowledge of entitlements, infrastructure construction, municipal approvals, and development financing.
- Proven budgeting, cash forecasting, financial modeling, and multi-entity accounting skills; advanced Excel proficiency.
- Independent, entrepreneurial problem-solver who anticipates issues and exercises sound judgment.
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, real estate, or a related field preferred. Controller experience and familiarity with real estate accounting systems desirable. Pay: $100,000.00
