Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. As a Dental Assistant, you will assist the dentist during procedures, manage patient records, and maintain a clean and organized environment. Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a high level of patient comfort.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are available.
- Perform dental radiography and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records using Dentrix or similar software.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and ensure proper storage practices.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures with patience and understanding.
- Assist in endodontics procedures as needed, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Qualifications
- Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic is advantageous.
- Proficiency in general dentistry practices, including basic dental procedures and protocols.
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with patients of all ages, particularly children in pediatric dentistry settings.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
