- Either be based in Ontario, California or Houston, Texas. A leading global manufacturer of energy equipment and provider of oilfield services is building out its US leadership team. Established for over 25 years and operating in more than 70 countries, the business designs and manufactures high-end equipment for oil and gas exploration and development, alongside full-scope oilfield technical services, EPC and environmental treatment. Its fracturing, cementing and coiled tubing technology holds a dominant position in its home market, and the US is a priority growth region. The role You will own the HR function for the US region end to end, reporting into the overseas group HR leadership. This is a build role, not a maintenance one.
- Design and establish a localised HR system for the US region from the ground up
- Lead compensation and benefits, performance management and organisational development
- Own labour law compliance and employment risk across US operations
- Manage employee relations across a workforce of both local hires and assignees from headquarters
- Build the talent pipeline to support aggressive regional expansion
- Act as the cross-cultural bridge between US operations and overseas headquarters What we're looking for
- Degree educated, with 8+ years in HR and at least 3 years operating at Director level with full generalist ownership
- Proven experience building or scaling an HR function in a newly established or rapidly growing market
- Strong working knowledge of US employment law and employee relations practice
- Fluent business English, with the confidence to deal directly with external counsel, agencies and executive stakeholders
- Genuine cross-cultural capability, ideally gained within a multinational with an Asian parent company or headquarters
- Background in energy, heavy equipment manufacturing or industrial services is a strong advantage
