THE ROLE Owns the general ledger, the monthly close and the chart of accounts for the MSO and every division that has converted onto it. Signs the close. This is the first accounting hire and the most time-critical seat on the entire build-out plan. WHAT THIS ROLE OWNS
- The monthly close calendar, and the sign-off on it — accruals, journal entries, intercompany, then period lock
- One serialized chart of accounts across all entities, and the dimension structure behind it
- Every bank and credit-card reconciliation, every month, across all entities
- Entity, division and location P&L, the board pack and variance commentary
- Payment release and vendor-master approval — authority no one else in the department holds
- Sage Intacct administration, entity licensing and the implementation partner relationship
- Audit support, 1099s, fixed assets and lender covenant reporting
- Supervision of the onshore accounting staff and the contracted offshore processing pod THE FIRST NINETY DAYS
- Run the December parallel close: close December twice, once in QuickBooks and once in Intacct, and reconcile the two line by line. This is the go / no-go on a 1 January go-live
- Take the 245-account chart of accounts mapping to final and close the thirty open decisions in it
- Bring fifteen bank and card accounts current before conversion, and clear $187,352 sitting in suspense across 68 lines
- Deliver the first Intacct close by 15 February — the first division and location P&L the Board has ever seen REQUIRED
- CPA, or a CPA-track career with equivalent multi-entity close experience
- Five or more years owning a monthly close, including consolidation and intercompany eliminations
- Has converted a general ledger onto a new platform, and can describe a parallel close they ran
- Comfortable being the only accountant in the building for the first quarter PREFERRED
