SUMMARY The Pastry Cook prepares all types of delicious pastries and desserts. The Pastry Cook supports the Pastry Chef in overseeing the day-to-day pastry kitchen operation as well as helping with menu and recipe development. ESSENTIAL DUTIES &

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complies with all portion sizes, recipes, quality standards, departmental rules, policies and procedures.
- Prepares and bakes pastries and other desserts.
- Selects and uses knives, hand tools, utensils and equipment to decorate, weigh and measure.
- Maintains holding temperature, bakes, cooks, whips, refrigerates, folds, grates, pipes or coats items.
- Produces food in the pastry kitchen.
- Maintains a sanitary work area to ensure food safety.
- Converts and adjusts recipes to prepare varying quantities of pastries, and other desserts.
- Operates kitchen equipment including ovens and electric mixers.
- Cleans and cares for equipment and assigned areas.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs on a continuous basis.
- Able to work holidays and weekends.
- Performs other job-related duties as required. SKILLS &

EXPERIENCE:
- 1-2 years’ experience in a high-volume kitchen.
- Valid California Food Handlers Card. COMPETITIVE WAGES:
- Starting at $21.00/ hour and up based on experience
