Role Description The Operations Manager for Household Goods Moving and Storage is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX. This position oversees daily moving and storage operations, including scheduling crews, coordinating vehicles and equipment, and ensuring jobs are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards. The role manages staff assignments, monitors workload and performance, and provides guidance and support to operations teams. The Operations Manager reviews customer orders, confirms service requirements, and works closely with sales, dispatch, and warehouse teams to ensure accurate, timely service. Additional responsibilities include monitoring inventory and storage utilization, enforcing compliance with safety and transportation regulations, resolving operational issues, and contributing to continuous process improvement and customer satisfaction. Qualifications
• Experience in operations management in moving, logistics, transportation, or warehousing, with the ability to oversee daily scheduling, dispatch, and resource allocation.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, including coaching staff, managing performance, and fostering a respectful, safety-focused work environment.
• Proficiency in planning and problem-solving, with the ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple jobs simultaneously, and respond effectively to changing conditions.
• Customer service and communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with clients, resolve issues, and collaborate with internal teams.
• Knowledge of household goods moving processes, storage operations, and relevant regulatory and safety requirements; experience with van lines or international moving is beneficial.
• Comfort with operational software, scheduling tools, and basic office applications to manage orders, documentation, and reporting.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to work on-site in Houston, TX, including occasional early, late, or weekend hours as operations demand.
