Job Title: Data Analyst – Utilities & Energy
Company: Aaratech Inc.
Employment Type: Full-Time, W2 (deployed to client projects)
Experience:
2–4 years Compensation: $65,000 – $75,000 per year Work Mode: On-Site / Hybrid Work Authorization At this time, we are only able to consider candidates who are authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Why This Role? The grid is going digital — smart meters, renewables, and AMI data have made utilities one of the most data-hungry industries in America. Get in early on an analytics niche with huge demand and surprisingly little competition. Job Summary Aaratech Inc. is seeking a Data Analyst – Utilities & Energy to turn smart-meter, outage, asset, and customer data into insight. You will build reliability and load reporting, support demand forecasting and grid-modernization analytics, and deliver findings that improve operations and customer programs.
Key Responsibilities
• Collect, clean, and analyze AMI/smart-meter, SCADA, outage, asset, and customer datasets using SQL and Python.
• Design and maintain dashboards in Power BI or Tableau for load, reliability metrics (SAIDI/SAIFI/CAIDI), and asset performance.
• Support demand forecasting, load research, and energy-efficiency/demand-response program analytics.
• Analyze outage and asset-health data to support predictive maintenance and grid-modernization initiatives.
• Prepare data for regulatory reporting and rate-case filings to public utility commissions.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reporting quality across platforms.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations to operations, planning, and regulatory stakeholders. Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in utilities, energy, or another asset-intensive industry.
• Strong, hands-on SQL skills — complex joins, window functions, CTEs, and query optimization.
• Proficiency with Power BI or Tableau, plus advanced Microsoft Excel (Power Query, pivot tables, advanced formulas).
• Hands-on experience with operational, sensor/meter, time-series, or customer data at scale.
• Strong analytical, data-storytelling, and stakeholder-communication skills. Tools & Technologies You Will Use
• Analytics & querying: SQL (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL), Python (pandas, NumPy) including time-series analysis.
• BI & visualization: Power BI (DAX, Power Query), Tableau, Excel.
• Utility data & systems: AMI/MDM platforms, SCADA/OT historians (OSIsoft PI exposure a plus), CIS/billing data.
• Geospatial & cloud: Esri ArcGIS, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure or AWS data services. Preferred Skills
• Knowledge of energy markets, demand response, load forecasting, or renewable-integration concepts.
• Familiarity with reliability metrics (SAIDI, SAIFI, CAIDI) and regulatory reporting.
• Exposure to predictive maintenance or asset-analytics use cases.
• Certifications such as Microsoft PL-300, Tableau Desktop Specialist, or Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate are a plus. About Aaratech Inc.
