Role Description The Water Resources Engineer will work full time on-site in Greater Philadelphia, supporting the planning, design, and analysis of water resource and stormwater infrastructure projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, preparing stormwater management plans, and contributing to water quality assessments for public and private developments. The role involves producing technical reports, design drawings, and calculations, coordinating with civil and structural engineering teams, and assisting with permitting and regulatory compliance. The engineer will support construction-phase services, such as reviewing submittals, responding to field inquiries, and participating in site visits to ensure designs are implemented accurately and safely. Collaboration with project managers, clients, and local agencies is essential to deliver efficient, practical solutions that meet community and environmental needs. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Water Resource Management and Hydrology, including analysis of watersheds, runoff, and flood risk. Strong knowledge of Stormwater and Stormwater Management practices, including design of detention/retention systems, green infrastructure, and drainage networks. Experience with Water Quality assessment and design of measures to reduce pollutants and support regulatory compliance. Proficiency with relevant engineering software (e.g., hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools, CAD) and ability to produce clear design documents. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; EIT or PE license in Pennsylvania is a plus. Understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to stormwater, water resources, and environmental compliance. Strong analytical, communication, and technical writing skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple project tasks. Prior experience in municipal or public infrastructure projects and familiarity with construction support activities is beneficial.
