INDUSTRIAL CONSTRUCTION RECRUITER
Department: Human Resources / Recruiting Reports To: HR Manager Employment Type: Full-Time
POSITION SUMMARY
The Industrial Construction Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, screening, and recruiting qualified craft and field personnel for industrial construction, maintenance, turnaround, and project-based work. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience recruiting within the industrial construction industry and a strong understanding of skilled crafts, jobsite requirements, and high-volume staffing needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Recruit qualified craft professionals, foremen, and field supervision for industrial construction, maintenance, turnaround, and project-based positions.
• Source candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, recruiting databases, industry contacts, and hiring events.
• Maintain an active pipeline of qualified craft professionals for current and upcoming projects.
• Review applications and resumes and conduct candidate screenings to verify experience, qualifications, availability, and jobsite readiness.
• Communicate job details including pay rates, schedules, project locations, duration, shifts, per diem eligibility, and jobsite requirements.
• Coordinate interviews, skills testing, weld testing, and pre-employment requirements as applicable.
• Work closely with HR, Operations, Project Management, and field supervision to identify current and upcoming manpower needs.
• Respond quickly to high-volume staffing requests and changing project requirements.
• Maintain accurate applicant, recruiting, and hiring records.
• Track and report recruiting results, including time-to-fill, fill rates, and manpower readiness for upcoming projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with qualified craft professionals for future projects.
• Assist with job advertisements, social media recruiting campaigns, job fairs, and hiring events.
• Ensure recruiting activities comply with company policies and applicable employment laws.
• Maintain confidentiality of applicant and employee information. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• 5+ years of recruiting experience, preferably within industrial construction or skilled craft recruiting.
• Strong knowledge of industrial construction crafts, terminology, and jobsite environments.
• Experience recruiting for industrial construction, petrochemical, refinery, chemical plant, manufacturing, maintenance, or turnaround projects preferred.
• Experience with high-volume and project-based recruiting.
• Ability to evaluate craft experience and distinguish industrial construction experience from commercial or residential experience.
• Familiarity with TWIC requirements, NCCER credentials, craft certifications, weld testing, drug testing, background requirements, and other industrial hiring requirements preferred.
• Strong communication, interviewing, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and rapidly changing manpower requirements.
• Experience utilizing job boards, social media, recruiting databases, and applicant tracking systems.
