Role Description The Junior Developer (Entry-Level / Junior) will support the development and maintenance of software solutions that enhance NH’s operational and project delivery processes. In this part-time, remote role, the individual will assist in coding, testing, and debugging applications under the guidance of senior team members. Day-to-day tasks may include implementing small features, fixing defects, updating documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements. The Junior Developer will also help improve existing systems, learn and apply best practices in software development, and participate in code reviews and regular team check-ins. Qualifications
• Candidates should possess foundational programming skills in one or more modern languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript) and basic knowledge of software development principles.
• Candidates should possess skills in web or application development, including familiarity with front-end or back-end frameworks, version control (e.g., Git), and basic debugging techniques.
• Candidates should possess problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret requirements, troubleshoot issues, and propose practical technical solutions.
• Candidates should possess collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively in remote teams, follow guidance from senior developers, and document work clearly.
• Candidates should possess a willingness to learn new technologies, adapt to changing project needs, and follow industry best practices and coding standards.
• Beneficial qualifications include coursework or experience in software engineering, computer science, or related fields, familiarity with databases, and an interest in construction or infrastructure sectors.
• A diploma, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (completed or in progress) is an asset but not strictly required for strong entry-level candidates.
