Commercial Lines Account Manager Box Insurance Agency Overview Box provides insurance to middle market clients, with some large accounts, averaging around $200,000 in premium. This position manages roughly 45–55 client renewals. A dedicated claims manager handles most claims-related work, and a marketing manager owns new business submissions until an account is bound. Once bound, accounts transition to the Account Manager. This role includes a mix of long-term Box accounts with established Risk Advisors, along with new accounts. Provides prompt, accurate, and courteous service to clients, risk advisors, partners, and insurance companies in the development and retention of accounts. Anticipated Start Date: Immediate Opening Primary Responsibilities and Duties ● Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned clients, fielding coverage questions and service requests by phone and email. ● Issue certificates of insurance and process endorsements (adding/removing vehicles, locations, drivers, or coverage changes) throughout the policy term. ● Prepare and transmit renewal submissions and underwriting data to carriers; negotiate terms and pricing directly with underwriters alongside the Field Agent. ● Review policies, quotes, and binders for accuracy against submissions before delivering to the insured. ● Maintain the expiration/suspense list in Applied Epic to track upcoming renewals and ensure timely marketing. ● Prepare and update client renewal reviews prior to expiration. ● Check the accuracy and completeness of premium transactions and audits issued by carriers before invoicing and distribution. ● Order renewal coverages; prepare and distribute binders, invoices, and finance agreements. ● Identify coverage gaps and cross-sell opportunities, flagging account rounding potential to the Field Agent. ● Handle basic claims documentation; the Box claims manager owns the majority of claims-related work. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ● Supportive and responsive manner with internal and external customers. ● High school diploma or equivalent. ● 3+ years of commercial insurance experience with middle market accounts. ● Current general lines property/casualty agent's license. ● Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and efficiently in a complex environment. ● Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe. ● Comfortable adopting AI-assisted platforms and tools used to support daily workflows. ● Sound independent decision-making skills. ● Insurance designation (CISR, CIC, or similar) preferred, but not required — Box supports professional development for those pursuing one. ● Collaborative mindset for working with risk advisors, coworkers, and leadership.
