About The Role
The ETL Tester at CSpring will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data within our enterprise data warehouse environment, specifically supporting state government Medicaid systems. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in testing data pipelines, validating data transformations, and automating testing processes. You will be responsible for designing, executing, and automating test cases that verify both functional and non-functional requirements of complex ETL processes. Your work will directly impact how healthcare data is processed and delivered, supporting vital public health initiatives and improving service delivery for Medicaid beneficiaries. Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in QA/testing roles supporting ETL, data warehouse, healthcare analytics, or enterprise data systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Azure, and Azure Data Factory (ADF) for data validation, automation, and pipeline testing.
• Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience in relational databases such as Teradata, SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience testing various data solutions including ETL, data warehouses, backend systems, and UI integrations.
• Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling, star and snowflake schemas, SCD types, and data transformation techniques.
• Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, ADF, Talend, or SSIS, along with test management platforms like Azure DevOps, Jira, or HP ALM.
• Ability to develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, plans, and automation frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis capabilities.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments with strong stakeholder communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related fields. Responsibilities
• Review change requests and participate in requirement analysis sessions to understand new EDW data extracts and transformations, ensuring testing aligns with business needs.
• Perform backend data validation by comparing source system data with target Medicaid EDW data, verifying data mapping, transformation logic, and data quality standards.
• Write complex SQL queries to validate ETL outputs, including row counts, null checks, duplicate detection, and referential integrity verification.
• Design detailed test plans, test cases, and scenarios for ETL processes, documenting results and providing actionable feedback to stakeholders.
• Execute both manual and automated tests across full and incremental load cycles, ensuring data accuracy and process reliability.
• Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or HP ALM, collaborating with developers to resolve issues and perform regression testing.
• Develop automation scripts utilizing Python, SQLAlchemy, and Pandas for data validation, along with shell scripts for ETL monitoring and log analysis.
• Integrate automation workflows into CI/CD pipelines to streamline testing and deployment processes, enhancing efficiency and consistency.
• Participate in data modeling discussions and contribute to continuous improvement of testing frameworks and methodologies.
