Role Description This full-time, on-site Template Measure Technician role is based in Tipton, IN. The Template Measure Technician is responsible for visiting job sites to accurately measure and template countertops, ensuring precise dimensions and clear documentation for fabrication. Day-to-day tasks include using measurement tools and digital templating equipment, reviewing project plans, confirming site conditions, and communicating with customers, installers, and office staff about job requirements. The role also involves maintaining equipment, following safety procedures, organizing measurement files, and supporting scheduling and workflow by promptly submitting completed templates. The technician contributes to quality control by verifying details such as overhangs, cutouts, seams, and material specifications before fabrication begins.
Qualifications
Ability to accurately use measuring tools (tape measure, levels, laser devices) and, ideally, experience with digital templating systems.
Basic understanding of construction, cabinetry, or countertop installation practices, including reading simple drawings or job layouts.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills to ensure precise templates and clear documentation.
Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, installers, and office staff in a professional manner.
Comfort working on-site in homes and commercial spaces, including climbing, kneeling, lifting moderate weights, and following safety protocols.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to job sites throughout the service area.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing schedules and project demands.
High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in countertops, construction, measuring, or field service is preferred but not required.
