Role Description: The Retail Salesperson role at Tabu Boutique is a full-time, on-site position based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. In this role, the Retail Salesperson will greet customers, provide personalized assistance, and guide shoppers through the curated selection of handmade and ethically sourced products. Day-to-day responsibilities include answering product questions, sharing brand and artisan stories, processing sales transactions, and ensuring the sales floor is clean, organized, and visually appealing. The Retail Salesperson will handle inventory tasks such as restocking, tagging, and arranging merchandise displays, while contributing to a welcoming and inclusive store atmosphere. This role also involves supporting store events, promotions, and social media features by showcasing products and engaging with customers professionally. Availability: Must be regularly available two weekdays and one weekend day from 10:45am-5:15pm. More hours are required around the holiday season. Qualifications
• Strong Retail Sales and Sales skills, with the ability to meet goals while maintaining a customer-first mindset.
• Excellent Customer Service and Communication skills, including active listening and clear, respectful interaction with diverse customers.
• Solid Product Knowledge skills, with interest in learning about handmade, ethically sourced jewelry, clothing, and accessories.
• Ability to work on-site full-time, stand for extended periods, and handle typical retail tasks such as merchandising and light lifting.
• Previous experience in boutique, fashion, or specialty retail is preferred but not required.
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working weekends, holidays, and peak shopping hours as needed.
• Collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for supporting local and global artisans.
