SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
None EXEMPT ( ) NON-EXEMPT (x) We are seeking a temporary HR and Payroll professional for an assignment of 3+ months to support our HR team and our diverse workforce at Domain Services and Pacific Union Co. In this role, you will be responsible for payroll processing while providing comprehensive HR support with the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity, and customer service. • Process weekly payroll from timecard review through final approval, ensuring it is accurate, timely, and compliant with California and federal wage and hour laws. Serve as backup for biweekly payroll.
• Distribute weekly DS payroll checks; mail PUC paychecks on time.
• Coordinate final checks for terminations and enter terminations in the HRIS on time, with all paperwork prepared in advance.
• Enter employee data changes (address, compensation, department, etc.) and update external benefit vendor sites to match.
• Process unemployment, disability, and wage garnishment requests. Employee Support and Onboarding
• Respond to employee inquiries by phone and through the HR inbox; resolve issues or escalate to an HR partner as appropriate.
• Process new hire paperwork and coordinate and conduct new hire orientations.
• Complete I-9s accurately; monitor and follow up on expiring documents.
• Complete employment verifications promptly. Benefits And Leave
• Provide data entry support for benefit enrollments and terminations, including retirement, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and wellness programs.
• Coordinate injury forms and report claims to the workers’ compensation carrier. Administration
• Maintain accurate, compliant personnel files, filing weekly and supporting the transition to paperless records.
• Code and process department and credit card expenses monthly.
• Order office supplies and keep the HR office clean and organized.
• Support coordination of company events.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency. Non-essential Duties And Responsibilities
• Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Requirements
• As a customer facing role must be able to work onsite Monday
- Friday during core business hours
• AA or equivalent, two to four years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must speak, read and write both English and Spanish
• Working knowledge of HR, Benefit and Payroll laws and regulations
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
• Proficient on all Microsoft programs
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels
• Attention to detail and good follow-up/through
• Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
• Effective communication skills

- $30.00 per hour.
