Role Description The Route Driver is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX, responsible for safely transporting metal products and materials to and from customer locations and company facilities. Day-to-day tasks include operating company trucks on assigned routes, loading and unloading materials, verifying shipment accuracy, and maintaining delivery schedules. The Route Driver will inspect vehicles before and after trips, follow all DOT and company safety regulations, and keep delivery documentation and logs up to date. This role also involves interacting with customers in a professional manner, addressing delivery-related questions, and coordinating with dispatch and warehouse teams to resolve any route or scheduling issues. Qualifications
• Proficient truck driving skills with experience operating medium duty/commercial trucks safely and efficiently.
• CDL not required but preferred.
• Minimum of valid driver license and clean driving record in accordance with state and federal requirements.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with dispatch, warehouse teams, and customers.
• Customer service abilities to represent the company professionally during pickups and deliveries.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection, maintenance checks, and adherence to DOT safety regulations.
• Ability to lift and move materials up to 100lbs, and to work in various weather and warehouse conditions.
• Reliable time management skills, attention to detail in documentation, and ability to follow route plans.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; previous experience in metal or industrial logistics is a plus.
