About Midas Robotics
Midas Robotics builds tactile sensors that give robotic end-effectors a sense of touch. We're a three-person team in San Francisco. We raised a $2.2M pre-seed three months ago, and we're already shipping sensors to robotics companies.
The Role
We're hiring a test engineer to own testing across our production line. This is a hands-on mechatronics role that covers mechanical, electrical, and data work. Every sensor we ship will pass through systems you build.
What You'll Do
• Own end-of-line testing: build fixtures, write procedures, set pass/fail criteria, and log data
• Run sensor training and calibration for every unit we ship
• Set up and run endurance, thermal, and ultimate-strength tests on our motorized test stand
• Support PCB bring-up, inspection, and acceptance testing for incoming boards, and maintain the electrical test procedures
• Design, build, debug, and maintain our test fixtures and hardware Must Have
• Hands-on PCB bring-up, validation, and assembly
• Analog circuit testing, debugging, and analysis
• Debugging digital communication signals (I2C, SPI, UART) with a scope or logic analyzer
• Designing and building test fixtures (CAD, 3D printing)
• Writing Python scripts to automate tests and log data Nice to Have
• Characterizing and testing power regulation circuits
• Writing electrical test plans and clearly reporting results
• PCB design experience
• SPICE simulation
• Experience with sensors, calibration, or production test at a hardware startup
• Familiarity with load cells, motorized test stands, or environmental chambers
