Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Bay Pointe Rehabilitation and Nursing is a family of skilled nursing facilities and rehabilitation centers dedicated to providing resident-centered, quality-focused care. We are currently seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team.

• Competitive pay and benefits Position Summary The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide individualized, evidence-based treatment designed to improve patients’ independence, functional abilities, and quality of life. Primary Responsibilities
• Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic activities and interventions designed to improve patients’ strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, mobility, and functional independence.
• Help patients develop and maintain the skills necessary to perform activities of daily living.
• Provide personalized, evidence-based care based on each patient’s goals, needs, and abilities.
• Motivate and encourage patients throughout treatment to promote optimal participation and progress.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, adaptive strategies, and exercises as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment and communicate progress, concerns, and changes in condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist and rehabilitation team.
• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated patient care.
• Promote healthy lifestyles and increased independence through therapeutic interventions and functional activities.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, treatment provided, and progress.
• Follow all applicable professional, facility, and regulatory standards while maintaining patient safety and dignity. Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current COTA certification and/or eligibility for certification as required by the state of practice.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
