The Opportunity
Tetra Tech is adding an experienced Technical Editor to support our Oak Ridge, Tennessee, office.
The successful candidate will provide technical writing and editing expertise, with a focus on developing proposals, marketing materials, technical reports, and other documentation supporting technical programs and projects.
This position requires collaboration with technical professionals, internal teams, and potentially partner and customer organizations to develop clear, accurate, and effective written materials. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience translating complex scientific and technical information into well-organized content for a variety of audiences.

• Lead the development, writing, and editing of proposals and marketing materials supporting technical programs and projects.
• Prepare, review, and edit technical reports, documents, and other written materials for Tetra Tech CES HEI customers.
• Collaborate with technical personnel, project teams, and partner or customer organizations to develop high-quality technical content.
• Analyze complex scientific and technical information and summarize it clearly for general and nontechnical audiences.
• Ensure written materials are accurate, consistent, well-organized, and professionally presented.
• Use Microsoft Word to develop, format, edit, and finalize technical documents and proposals.
• Coordinate document development activities with technical contributors and other stakeholders.
• Prioritize and manage multiple writing and editing assignments to meet strict project deadlines.
Conduct activities in accordance with internal procedures, applicable requirements, and industry standards.
• Work safely at all times and report health and safety incidents and concerns.
• Perform additional duties as required. Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, or English.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in scientific and/or technical writing, preferably within a Department of Energy (DOE) environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Word, including document preparation, editing, and formatting.
• Experience analyzing complex scientific and technical information and summarizing it effectively for general audiences.
• Strong technical writing, editing, proofreading, and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with technical professionals and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet strict deadlines.
• Must possess or be capable of obtaining a DOE Q-clearance.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting DOE programs, facilities, or technical projects.
• Experience developing proposals, marketing materials, and technical documentation for scientific or engineering programs.
• Experience coordinating technical input from multiple contributors.
