Position Summary The Logistics & Indirect Sourcing Manager leads Duravant’s global logistics and indirect sourcing strategies, programs, and supplier relationships. This role partners closely with Duravant’s operating companies and senior leadership to optimize transportation and indirect spend, improve supplier performance, and develop sourcing strategies that support business growth. Essential Responsibilities Logistics & Transportation
• Develop and manage KPIs to evaluate logistics, TMS, and 3PL provider performance, including service levels, corrective actions, cost, and compliance with contractual obligations.
• Lead the development, negotiation, implementation, and ongoing management of transportation contracts and rate agreements, including freight, brokerage, and freight audit/payment services.
• Partner with Duravant operating companies to understand logistics requirements and ensure transportation strategies support current and future business needs.
• Analyze transportation spend, market conditions, and business growth strategies to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and increased efficiency.
• Conduct quarterly business reviews with carrier partners, senior leadership, and key operating company stakeholders to review KPIs, savings, performance trends, and critical action items.
• Lead audits and compliance reviews to ensure negotiated pricing and contractual terms are accurately implemented and passed through to operating companies. Indirect Sourcing
• Develop and execute long-term category strategies for indirect materials and services, including areas such as Telecom, Travel & Entertainment, Hardware/MRO, temporary labor, and other assigned categories.
• Manage spend analytics and commodity guidance tools to improve spend visibility and support sourcing decisions across Duravant.
• Partner with Duravant and operating company stakeholders to develop and maintain material and service specifications, RFQs, supplier selection processes, and sourcing events.
• Lead supplier negotiations, including pricing, terms and conditions, service levels, and contractual requirements, and monitor ongoing contract compliance.
• Develop and continuously improve the indirect supply base by identifying qualified suppliers, rationalizing the supplier base where appropriate, and monitoring supplier performance.
• Identify and execute strategic cost-saving initiatives using project and change management methodologies. Maintain a pipeline of sourcing and continuous improvement projects and track results against established targets.
• Evaluate total cost of ownership for indirect materials and services and identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase value.
• Serve as a point of escalation for indirect sourcing and supplier-related issues, partnering with operations and internal stakeholders to resolve issues related to cost, quality, delivery, inventory, lead times, and service. Position Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, indirect sourcing/procurement, supply chain, or global trade compliance.
• Comprehensive knowledge of transportation and logistics practices, including domestic and international transportation requirements and applicable U.
S. and foreign regulations.
• Demonstrated experience implementing and managing Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and sourcing and implementing new truckload (TL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier programs.
• Experience negotiating and managing transportation and/or supplier contracts and rate agreements.
• Strong understanding of indirect sourcing and category management principles, with experience in categories such as Travel & Entertainment, Telecom, MRO, temporary labor, or similar areas.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze spend, market data, supplier performance, and financial information and translate findings into actionable strategies.
• Working knowledge of ERP, TMS, spend analytics, and other supply chain or procurement systems.
• Willingness to travel 25% or more as business needs require. Why Work at Duravant?
