Lead Complex Structural Projects and Mentor the Next Generation of Engineers
GPI is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Building Engineer to join our team in Scranton, PA. This leadership-focused role offers the opportunity to lead structural design efforts across a wide range of commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, and municipal projects, while mentoring junior staff and contributing to business growth.
Responsibilities
• Lead the structural design and analysis of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber building systems.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, quality control, and client expectations.
• Perform structural condition assessments, site investigations, and forensic evaluations.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, owners, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance throughout project execution.
• Support proposal development, client meetings, and business development initiatives. Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• A professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred; an SE license is a plus.
• 7+ years of structural building design experience.
• Strong knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, and applicable building codes.
• Experience leading structural projects from concept through construction.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software, Revit, and AutoCAD.
• Experience with commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and public-sector projects preferred.
• Proven ability to mentor staff, manage clients, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
