About The Role
Oracle is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer for a temporary position supporting technology initiatives in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In this role, you will contribute to machine learning and data engineering work while helping improve the infrastructure, delivery practices, and testing systems that support engineering teams. The position offers an annualized compensation range of $64,000 to $98,000, along with full benefits, subject to applicable plan terms and eligibility. You will take ownership of a mid-level LangChain workstream and help turn larger technical initiatives into manageable increments that teams can deliver. Your work will span cloud resource optimization, CI/CD infrastructure, Databricks testing, and feature flags. You will also partner with data teams to identify useful insights from production systems and participate in technical design reviews. This role is suited to an engineer who can work independently while staying closely connected to colleagues and stakeholders. Qualifications Candidates should bring critical-thinking skills, sound independent judgment, and a demonstrated record of contributing to technology initiatives. Experience working with machine learning or data platforms, including tools such as LangChain, Pandas, Jupyter, and Databricks, will help you contribute to the role’s technical work. Familiarity with CI/CD practices, cloud infrastructure, automated testing, and feature-flag approaches is also relevant. You should be able to guide mid-level initiatives, assess technical trade-offs, and communicate decisions clearly. Experience collaborating with data and engineering teams is important, as is the ability to connect production-system information with practical findings. Oracle values a collaborative approach: share credit, take responsibility when challenges arise, and help teammates move work forward. Related experience in or near the Chattanooga area is welcomed. Responsibilities Break large technology initiatives into clear, appropriately sized delivery increments. Own and advance the mid-level LangChain workstream, coordinating dependencies and helping unblock the broader engineering roadmap. Review Jupyter infrastructure and recommend or implement right-sizing changes that support efficient cloud use. Maintain and improve CI/CD infrastructure across Tennessee engineering teams. Investigate flaky Databricks tests, restore their reliability, and help ensure the test suite provides trustworthy results. Implement Databricks feature flags to support controlled testing against Chattanooga traffic and reduce deployment risk. Lead technical design reviews for mid-level initiatives, document decisions, and communicate relevant trade-offs. Work with data teams to surface insights from production systems, contribute to continuous improvement, and share progress, risks, and blockers with appropriate stakeholders. Benefits This temporary role offers a compensation range of $64,000 to $98,000 and full benefits, subject to eligibility and applicable plan terms. Oracle also describes a career roadmap intended to support professional growth and progression. The work provides exposure to platform-scale engineering, machine learning workflows, cloud optimization, and collaboration across technology and data teams. Equal Opportunity Oracle is an equal opportunity employer. Employment decisions are made without regard to protected characteristics under applicable law. Candidates are considered based on their relevant qualifications, experience, and ability to perform the responsibilities of the position. Reasonable accommodations are available for applicants who need them during the recruitment process.
