We are seeking a Network Engineer I to support the design, deployment, integration, testing, and documentation of mission-critical video and communication systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for a network or systems engineering professional with experience in IP networking, wireless communications, video systems, and network troubleshooting who enjoys working directly with customers and cross-functional technical teams.

• Work Arrangement: Hybrid/Onsite – Chicago, Elgin, and customer locations
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Travel: Frequent travel to customer and installation locations within the Chicago area 🔧
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement video networks, including network infrastructure, Video Management Systems (VMS), and camera equipment.
• Perform system staging, integration, configuration, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing.
• Develop and maintain engineering designs, network diagrams, bills of materials, installation plans, scope documents, and test plans.
• Work with Project Managers and Operations teams during site walks to determine customer requirements and project scope.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project management and installation teams.
• Coordinate with customers, contractors, subcontractors, and other technical personnel during implementation and support activities.
• Deliver professional technical presentations and provide customer and peer training.
• Prepare and deliver final customer system documentation.
• Troubleshoot and monitor network performance and resolve connectivity and performance issues. 🎯 Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Video System Integration, or Wireless Communications.
• Strong understanding of IP networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, and MPLS.
• Experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with outdoor Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint wireless solutions; Cambium Networks experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of camera systems and Video Management Solutions (VMS).
• Strong communication, organization, presentation, and project management skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. ⭐ Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with routing and switching protocols such as OSPF, IS-IS, iBGP, eBGP, M-BGP, MPLS RSVP-TE, and LDP.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, JNCIA-Junos, Nokia NRS1, or similar.
• Experience with RF system design and line-of-sight microwave propagation.
• Experience working directly with end-user customers.
• Experience with video/network solutions in public safety or other mission-critical environments. 🚗 Additional Requirements
• Ability to travel to customer and installation sites; driving will be required for a significant portion of the role.
• Candidates must be able to use their own vehicle for business travel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.
S. without sponsorship.
