Independent W2 consultant – GCs or USCs only Test Lead Analyst

Location:
Sacramento, California (Hybrid) Duration: Long-term Contract Our client is seeking a Test Lead Analyst to join their IT team on a hybrid contract. In this role, you will lead testing for a mission-critical distribution management and outage management platform, working closely with internal stakeholders and the software vendor to keep it reliable and well maintained. Responsibilities
• Write and execute test scripts across the Monarch and Compass applications and their interfaces.
• Develop executable test plans based on business and functional requirements.
• Perform functional, end-user, integration, regression, and performance testing.
• Manage defects from start to finish, including logging anomalies, isolating and reproducing issues, and reporting them clearly.
• Lead and take part in defect resolution sessions, and work with the vendor and internal teams to verify fixes.
• Partner with stakeholders to define testing criteria, and carry out testing and debugging, including root cause analysis and documentation of findings.
• Diagnose and help resolve application issues in coordination with the vendor and end users.
• Record test results and compare them against expected outcomes.
• Clean up data after testing by reviewing, correcting, deleting, and re-entering records as needed.
• Create testing artifacts and share results with team members and vendor subject matter experts.
• Report progress, issues, and risks regularly to the project manager or technical lead.
• Provide occasional end-user support to workgroups using these applications.
• Attend project meetings, planning sessions, and reviews as needed. Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
• 2+ years of experience with AspenTech OSI ADMS Monarch applications.
• 2+ years of experience with AspenTech OSI OMS and Compass applications.
• Prior experience with and understanding of GIS models.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to non-technical users.
• Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with colleagues and project teams. Preferred:
• Experience with test automation tools.
• Hands-on experience with a defect tracking tool such as HP ALM or Jira.
• 2-3 years of experience creating process maps and turning them into test plans and test scripts.
• Experience with Waterfall, Agile, and iterative development methodologies.
