COM Seeking a skilled Paint & Body Technician to prepare, finish, and paint race car components and pit equipment to design and NASCAR specifications. In this role, your work is on display every race weekend, so precision, pride in craftsmanship, and the ability to deliver under tight deadlines are essential. Duties and Responsibilities
• Washes and prepares the surface of the chassis for painting using sanders, buffers and grinders.
• Applies body filler material and primer to race car components, shop equipment; sands and seals to final finish.
• Measures and mixes paint solution and chemicals accurately according to prescribed formulas.
• Paints all parts and pit equipment according to design specifications.
• Ensures quality product is completed accurately and delivered timely to other departments in accordance with the production schedule; adapts to deadlines effectively. Presents any obstacles that will delay the production schedule to the Shop Foreman immediately.
• Collaborates with Shop Foreman in verifying all components meet the template specifications provided by the fabrication department on the template checklist.
• Install decals and full vehicle wraps as needed; training available for qualified candidates.
• Safely operating machinery according to recommended safety specifications, including use of all protective equipment necessary (protective eyewear, gloves, mask, earplugs, etc.) while identifying any safety hazards and reporting all risks immediately to a supervisor.
• Keeping work area clean and organized at all times.
• Provide assistance to other team members on other duties as appropriate.
• Other duties & special projects will be added as assigned Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent and basic reading, writing, and advanced mathematics skills necessary.
• 2+ years of paint and body experience required; NASCAR industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of NASCAR template specifications preferred.
• Ability install a full decal wrap is a benefit.
• Must be able to concentrate on detailed work for long periods of time.
• Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of emergency safety procedures and use safety equipment correctly.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and produce an accurate finished product.
• Ability to carry out complex and repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment timely and accurately. Working Conditions
• Shop environment contains hazardous chemical and fumes. Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for long period of time, work in tight spaces, kneel, crawl, while working on race car
• Sanding, griding, noisy, dusty environment.
