ABOUT THIS ROLE We're looking for a SQL Server performance expert who wants to be more than just a database tutor or a ticket-taker fixing slow queries on demand. We seek someone who wants to own the performance of a real commercial product and be an integral part of what makes it exceptional. You'll join a team delivering a serious Inventory Management platform that businesses depend on every day — and your work will directly determine how fast, how smooth, and how reliable that experience feels to every one of our customers. • SQL Server replication expert: transactional, merge, snapshot, peer-to-peer; setup, troubleshooting, latency, re-initializing, distributor/subscriber management
• Experience across SQL Server 2014–2022, including upgrades and mixed-version setups
• Backup/restore strategy: full/diff/log, point-in-time recovery, testing restores, RPO/RTO
• Index and statistics maintenance: fragmentation, rebuild/reorg, fill factor, missing/unused indexes
• SQL Agent jobs: build, schedule, monitor, alert on failure
• Moving data between servers: SSIS, linked servers, BCP, backup/restore, log shipping
• Monitoring and performance: wait stats, blocking/deadlocks, DMVs, Query Store, disk/TempDB/log growth
• HA/DR: Always On, log shipping, failover planning
• Security: logins, roles, permissions
• Strong T-SQL NICE TO HAVES
• Building pre-aggregated reporting tables for developers
• Designing and monitoring 3rd-party data feed imports (SSIS, flat files, APIs)
• PowerShell / dbatools automation
• Azure SQL / cloud exposure TRAITS
• Calm under pressure; owns production incidents
• Proactive: finds problems before users do
• Documents everything to share information
• Explains things clearly to developers and management
• Careful with change control on production EXPERIENCE
• 5+ years as a production SQL Server DBA
• Proven hands-on replication work, not just exposure
