JOB DESCRIPTION
The Planned Giving/Major Gifts Development Associate will support the fundraising objectives of Planned Giving and Major Gifts department, dedicating approximately 60% of time to Planned Giving fundraising initiatives and 40% to Major Gifts initiatives. This position will focus on the coordination of the planned giving pipeline via documentation, via financial reporting, communications, and other administrative duties that assist the Senior VP of Major Gifts and Director of Planned Giving with closing legacy and bequest gifts. This position will manage a portfolio with an annual unrestricted fundraising goal of $75,000 in accordance with the Major Gifts moves management system. The Development Associate will assist Director of Major Gifts with the monitoring of the moves management system. The Planned Giving/Major Gifts Development Associate will play a key role in planned giving gift administration and fundraising operations for two of UNCF's important philanthropic areas. By managing a donor portfolio, supporting planned giving initiatives, and assisting with major gift fundraising, this position will contribute directly to revenue generation, donor engagement, and the continued growth of Planned Giving and Major Gifts at UNCF. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Support the Planned Giving program by providing oversight of detailed reporting and execution of UNCF planned giving documentation.
• Scheduling of donor meetings, coordination of but not limited to estate planning meetings, planned giving events, monitoring of planned giving outreach materials including planned giving newsletters, maintaining planned giving prospect database, seminars, webinars, fundraising campaigns, and other engagement activities.
• Track estate gifts from notification through final execution and assist with planned gift administration, including receipt and dissemination of required documentation. The position is also responsible for tracking fiduciary compliance, including the Charitable Gift Annuity program.
• Maintain membership records for the 1944 Society and support donor recognition and stewardship activities in collaboration with the Stewardship Manager.
• Support the Director of Major Gifts in monitoring and reporting of the Major Gifts moves management system via revue of coding in the Raiser’s edge system.
• Manage a personal portfolio of donors and prospects with an annual unrestricted fundraising goal of $75,000, via identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewarding donors and prospects while maintaining accurate records of donor interactions, gifts, their moves management activities in Raiser's Edge.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Three to five years of fundraising, development, donor relations, nonprofit, or related experience preferred.
• Experience working with donor databases, preferably Raiser's Edge.
• Strong organizational, communication, writing, and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
• Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with donors, volunteers, and organizational leadership.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
• Familiarity with notarization requirements and proper completion and execution of bequest, estate, and other legal documentation is a plus.
