- $23.00Hourly, Travel Percentage: None, Job Summary Pay: $20.00–$23.00/hour Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM–1:30 AM Full-Time Sit-Down Forklift Experience Required LTL / Freight Dock Experience Preferred California Sierra Express is hiring a dependable Night Shift Warehouse Associate / Forklift Operator for our Compton freight terminal. This position is responsible for receiving inbound freight and building our outbound linehaul loads each night. You’ll work with freight of many different sizes, shapes, and weights, using a sit-down forklift to load 53' dry van trailers high and tight, secure cargo properly, and make sure each outbound trailer is accurately manifested before departure. You’ll also receive freight dropped at our dock by outside carriers, verify the shipment information, inspect for damage or discrepancies, reweigh and label cargo, and stage the freight for loading onto the correct outbound truck.

Consistent Monday–Friday day schedule Paid vacation, sick days, and holidays Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) Paid training Stable company with more than 35 years in airfreight transportation What You’ll Do Safely operate a sit-down forklift to move, stage, load, and unload freight Receive freight delivered to our dock by outside carriers Verify shipment paperwork and cargo condition Note damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report them to a supervisor Label cargo correctly for outbound movement Reweigh freight to ensure accuracy of dims and weight Stage inbound freight for the appropriate outbound route Load outbound 53' trailers high and tight to maximize trailer space and protect freight Handle palletized, loose, oversized, and irregular freight Use load bars, load racks, cargo straps, and other securement equipment Maintain an accurate load list/manifest for each outbound truck Verify that all scheduled freight is physically loaded before trailer departure Enter and update freight information in company systems Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dock and warehouse Complete nightly housekeeping and warehouse lockdown procedures Follow company safety, TSA cargo-security, and OSHA requirements Comply with federal drug and alcohol regulations. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience Experience operating a sit-down forklift Experience loading 53' trailers strongly preferred LTL, airfreight, trucking-terminal, cross-dock, or logistics warehouse experience preferred Familiarity with cargo securement using load bars, racks, and straps preferred Basic computer and data-entry skills Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Ability to safely lift, move, and handle freight throughout the shift Dependable attendance Ability to work independently and complete nightly outbound closeout responsibilities Ability to work the required Monday–Friday evening schedule About California Sierra Express California Sierra Express has served the airfreight logistics industry for more than 35 years.
