Contract Weeks: 8
Requirements
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Scrub technician experience: Preferred
- Current Surgery Technician certification: Preferred
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification: Preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team in the preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room.
- Create and maintain a sterile field, retracting and passing instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during cases.
- Check required supplies and equipment prior to each surgical case.
- Assemble appropriate supplies/equipment prior to operative procedures.
- Maintain an orderly sterile field demonstrating careful attention to aseptic technique.
- Complete instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the Registered Nurse (RN) according to established standards.
