Job Purpose

  • The Roustabout(s) report directly to the Working Foreman, Foreman and Supervisor as each job is individualized.  This base line position requires a keen sense of awareness with motivated self-drive.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Engage in morning safety tailgate meeting
  • Communicate morning safety topic crew if needed
  • Perform monthly tool audit with assistance of crew lead
  • Ensure compliance of equipment (vehicle registration / fire extinguisher)
  • Participate in developing DDWP
  • Help identify, mitigate and or eliminate hazards on the jobsite
  • Participate in safe work & behavioral safety audits
  • Be aware of the dangers associated with hazardous atmospheres
  • Perform tasks assigned by Crew Lead or Foreman
  • Dig ditches, clean up spills and stand fire watch
  • Assist in cleaning worksite each day
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Develop a general knowledge of SSI SOP’s and frequently refer to SOP Manual
  • Follow all SSI and Customer policies and procedures







Qualifications

  • 6 months of experience
  • Ability to communicate with employees and various business partners in a professional and courteous manner
  • Knowledge of Lock out / Tag out Process
  • Ability to understand oral and written communication
  • Industry knowledge of tools and ability to use hand and power tools


Physical requirements

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work in harsh weather for long periods of time.  Depending on the phase of the job, all personnel are required to work in conditions where physical demands can consist of placing one’s body in various positions to inspect and accomplish certain tasks such as:

  • Sitting
  • Standing
  • Squatting
  • Raising and lowering objects from one level to another
  • Carrying objects, holding in hands or arms or on the shoulder
  • Grasping objects with the use of fingers, palm and wrists to hold and/or manipulate objects (hammers, saws, pencils, pens, etc.)
  • Pulling ie. Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves toward the force (includes jerking)
  • Pushing ic. Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves away from the force (includes slapping, striking, kicking and treadle actions)
  • Bending at the waist, stooping, working in a supine position, twisting seated or standing

*Some of these physical requirements will range from seldom, frequent to constant depending on the task.
