Accountability

Justify responsible actions and decisions to management. Be a reliable team player who can make accurate decisions with sense of urgency.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Core Integration Responsibilities
    • Design, develop, deploy and support API and EDI integrations on MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, from requirements through go-live and ongoing support.
    • Build scalable, reusable integration modules, APIs and connectors that follow API-led connectivity and enterprise architecture standards.
    • Develop and support integrations for freight forwarding applications across air, ocean, customs brokerage and logistics, working with internal systems, Salesforce and external trading partners.
    • Keep integrations healthy in production: monitoring, alerting, logging, root cause analysis and permanent fixes for recurring issues.
    • Triage and resolve production integration failures and data discrepancies within defined SLAs, and take part in escalations for business-critical integrations.
    • Support CI/CD pipelines and keep runtime environments consistent across development, staging and production.
    • Maintain relational and non-relational databases that support integration and AI workloads.

  • AI-Enabled Integration Responsibilities

    • Extend the integration platform with AI, using MuleSoft's AI and agentic features (e.g., MCP Connector, AI Chain, Agentforce/Agent Fabric) and similar integration-native tools.
    • Turn existing point solutions, such as direct LLM API calls, into standard, reusable integration patterns and connectors that teams can plug in with minimal configuration.
    • Build and maintain connections to LLM providers and model routing services inside integration flows, and help evaluate which models fit which workloads.
    • Build AI-assisted document and data extraction pipelines (e.g., shipping documents, invoices, customs forms), with the same validation, error handling and reprocessing used in standard integrations.
    • Build agent workflows and tool-calling patterns in which integrations and APIs act as the agents' tools. Apply guardrails, memory and orchestration as needed.
    • Support retrieval (RAG) patterns that ground AI features in company and client data.
    • Apply monitoring, observability and cost-tracking practices to AI-enabled flows so they meet the same production standards as other integrations.
    • Build shared services, such as MCP servers and standard connectors, that other teams and agent implementations can reuse.
    • Keep up with the integration vendor's AI roadmap and recommend adopting features where they add business value.

  • Collaboration & Documentation

    • Work with integration, Salesforce and operational systems teams to add AI capabilities to existing business processes.
    • Work with business stakeholders and project leads to turn operational requirements into integration and agent designs.
    • Document solutions, patterns and standards, and contribute to the AI project portfolio and roadmap.
    • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in systems integration or enterprise application development.
  • 2+ years of hands-on MuleSoft Anypoint Platform experience (Mule 4, DataWeave, API-led design, CloudHub or Runtime Fabric). Equal experience on another enterprise integration platform, such as Dell Boomi, IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, Cleo Integration Cloud, TIBCO or webMethods, will also be considered.
  • Solid experience with REST/SOAP APIs, JSON/XML and data mapping and transformation.
  • Experience with EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT) and B2B protocols (AS2, SFTP).
  • Experience supporting integrations in production, including monitoring, troubleshooting and incident response.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and CI/CD practices (e.g., Git, Maven, Jenkins/Azure DevOps).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
