Description: Assist teachers, counselors and administrators in providing educational services to students with special needs. Work will involve assisting students with remedial, enrichment and/or independent living activities as well as supporting instructional and educational goals. These positions are in an intensive behavior classroom.
Job Summary: Minimum of 7.0 hours/day, 5 days/week, 195 days/year
High School Parapro Day: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM; 7.0 hours/day
Minimum Qualifications:
2 years of college coursework
OR an Associate's Degree or higher
OR high school diploma with the passage of the ParaPro Assessment prior to employment
One year of related successful work experience
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience in operating basic office equipment, such as copiers
Ability to lift equipment, supplies and/or children weighing at least forty (40) pounds
Physical ability to perform all of the essential functions of the job.
A valid Educational Aide Permit or license issued by the Ohio Department of Education
Preferred qualifications:
Experience working with students with special needs
Salary: Step 1 - $17.47/hour (Non-degreed); $19.74/hour (2-year degree or above); $21.50 (Teaching Certificate)
