An established Florida general contractor with more than 30 years of experience is hiring an experienced Construction Estimator to prepare quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, bids, and proposals for commercial construction projects.

We are seeking someone with at least two years of estimating experience who already understands plan review, takeoffs, construction costs, vendor and subcontractor pricing, and bid preparation.

Commercial general contracting experience is preferred, but estimators from residential construction, subcontracting, windows and doors, roofing, painting, concrete, and other construction sectors are encouraged to apply.

Direct restoration experience is not required. The company will train an experienced estimator on its concrete repair, stucco, waterproofing, coatings, and commercial painting scopes.

This is an opportunity for an estimator who has developed a solid foundation but may have limited advancement or earning potential in their current position and wants to expand into larger commercial projects.

What You’ll Do

• Review construction drawings, specifications, bid invitations, addenda, and project requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and prepare labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
• Conduct site visits to review project conditions, access, logistics, and general scope.
• Request, organize, and evaluate pricing from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Apply labor-production rates and account for equipment, access, mobilization, protection, demolition, and disposal costs.
• Prepare competitive bids, proposals, clarifications, and supporting documentation.
• Track bid deadlines, revisions, exclusions, and project information.
• Communicate clearly with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal team members.
• Support project turnover by organizing estimating records and communicating important scope and pricing information.

What We’re Looking For

• At least two years of construction estimating, takeoff, bidding, or pricing experience.
• Previous experience as a Construction Estimator, Commercial Estimator, Residential Estimator, Cost Estimator, Assistant Estimator, or similar estimating position.
• Experience independently preparing quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and project bids.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Understanding of labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and project-related costs.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar takeoff software is preferred.
• Commercial general contracting experience is preferred; residential or subcontractor estimating experience will be considered.
• Concrete restoration, stucco, waterproofing, painting, or building-envelope experience is a plus but not required.
