Core Criteria:
- FGASA Level 2 qualification or higher
- Valid PDP
- Apprentice trails guide status advantageous
- Strong knowledge of African wildlife, ecology, and bush safety
- Excellent guest engagement and communication skills
- Understanding of Afrikaans preferred (spoken ability a bonus)
- Single status preferred, given shared, remote staff accommodation
- Non-smoker; a responsible approach to alcohol is fine, but heavy drinkers need not apply
- Willingness to work an extended on/off duty cycle typical of remote reserve life
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently in a bush environment
- Conduct game drives and guided walking safaris for guests
- Deliver engaging, knowledgeable interpretation of the reserve's flora, fauna, and ecology
- Ensure guest safety at all times while on activity
- Maintain and check guiding vehicles and equipment
- Build rapport with guests to enhance their overall safari experience
- Assist with general guiding-team duties and reserve conservation initiatives as required
- Uphold the lodge's standards of hospitality and professionalism at all times
