The Chan Soon-Shiong Institute of Molecular Medicine at Windber (CSSIMMW) is seeking a detail-oriented Research Associate I to join our College of American Pathologists Accredited (CAP) cancer and translational research Biobank team.
In this role, you will support biospecimen case qualifications and research workflow activities within the Biobank. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across teams, solving problems, and organizing complex information.
You will serve as a key link within the biobank to efficiently identify research cases and move them through their qualification for projects. Responsibilities for this role include tracking biospecimen (biological samples) identified for research, reviewing associated documentation such as clinical reports, maintaining project spreadsheets and databases, coordinating slide and digital image availability, identifying missing or inconsistent information, and helping ensure research materials and accompanying data are complete and ready for review.
Qualifications
Applicants should have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a Health Science or other related field. Previous experience in areas such as laboratory research and management of spreadsheets, is preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, organizational and communication skills, and attention-to-detail are important for success in this position.
