Ascension Energy Partners is a Business Advisory and Asset Management firm specializing in the energy industry. We are currently seeking an entry-level Research Assisant with 0-2 years of work experience to work with our corporate group on a range of projects across multiple business units. The successful candidate has the potential to transition from a three-month remote work contract role to a full-time role at one of our office locations.


This is a dynamic and challenging role that offers significant learning and growth potential but requires a high level of commitment and motivation. 


Responsibilities:

 

The ideal candidate for this position is career-focused and professional. The candidate will help us research any and all topics relevant to business development for the overall organization, and assist with projects related to individual business units or specific client engagements in our restructuring practice. Strong quantitative and organizational skills and an ability to work with people are critical to success. This role will require substantial engagement with people outside our organization largely over the telephone due to covid-19 issues, so a personable and friendly demeanor and a desire to talk to people as part of your daily job are important as well. This is an entry-level role with substantial learning and career development opportunities, so career focus is key. The successful candidate should expect to make a time commitment on par with roles in private equity, portfolio management and investment banking. This is excellent prepation for a longer-term role in our organization or as work experince to support an application to a top MBA program.


Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree with a track record of academic excellence 
  • Minimum of top quartile GPA and standarized test scores
  • High level of intellectual curiosity and desire to learn
  • Significant level of maturity and accountability 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail 
  • Willingness and interest in learning software in our tech stack
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
