OPEN POSITION - MAINTENANCE WORKER I or II Utility Operations Emphasis

The Village of Pingree Grove is hiring a full-time Maintenance Worker I or II (Utility Operations emphasis).
The ideal candidate performs skilled and semi-skilled work operating, maintaining, and repairing Village utilities and facilities (sanitary sewers, lift stations, streets, water, storm sewers, buildings, and forestry). Work includes heavy labor/lifting, heights, confined spaces, and outdoor work in adverse weather. Mandatory overtime as required.
Required: valid CDL (minimum Class B) with air brake endorsement or obtain within six (6) months of hire. Preferred or willing to obtain within three (3) years of hire - a Class 4 Wastewater Operator License and a Class D Water Operator License, with continued advancement to higher licensure over time.
Water and wastewater operations experience is strongly preferred. The Village is completing a major wastewater treatment plant expansion and needs strong operational support.
Salary range for this position is $52,000–$84,000 (based on licensure, qualifications, and experience). Higher starting pay may be offered with: IEPA waste/water operator, IDOA Operator/Applicator, Certified Playground Safety Inspector, and/or Certified Arborist. Must be a US citizen, or authorized to work in the US, 18 years of age or older, high school diploma or GED equivalent, valid Illinois driver’s license, ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, able to operate power equipment. All applicants must pass a background check and drug test.
