Responsibilities

Monitor and track all drivers throughout the day to ensure routes are progressing according to schedule.

Check drivers in and out at the beginning and end of their shifts, confirming attendance, route assignments, equipment, and any immediate concerns.

Maintain accurate driver check-in/check-out records and communicate attendance or staffing issues to the Shift Supervisor.

Conduct regular driver status checks and provide updates to management as requested.

Respond promptly to ETA requests from customers, management, and internal departments.

Monitor driver progress and proactively identify delays, route issues, or other concerns that could prevent a driver from completing their route or returning as scheduled.

Communicate with drivers throughout their routes and document concerns, feedback, or issues, including route order, load condition, delivery challenges, and customer concerns.

Answer incoming calls to Dispatch, resolve issues when possible, and escalate matters to the Shift Supervisor or Transportation Management when necessary.

Assist drivers with issues at vendors, customer locations, and delivery stops.

Help resolve discrepancies, customer concerns, product shortages, invoicing issues, returns, and other delivery-related problems.

Provide support to drivers experiencing mechanical issues, breakdowns, accidents, or other situations that may prevent them from continuing their routes.

Monitor road closures, traffic conditions, construction, weather, and sudden route changes, and work with drivers to establish alternate routes when necessary.

Support drivers with route changes, delivery instructions, and other information needed to keep deliveries moving efficiently.

Anticipate inbound shipments using available information and proactively track shipments to identify potential delays.

Respond to customer requests for shipment and delivery status in a timely and professional manner.

Assist with invoicing, billing processes, and related updates as needed.

Respond to email and telephone requests promptly and professionally.

Maintain accurate and timely dispatch records, driver status updates, and issue documentation.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience dispatching dealing with 30+ drivers
- Must be able to operate effectively & efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- TMS skills - Road Net and Omni Tracs preferred
- MS Office proficient - Excel, Word & Outlook
- Accustomed to dealing with and communicating with drivers
- Candidate must be flexible with hours
