Title: Remote Learning Specialist Unit: Part-Time MCCC Professional Staff Department: Adult Learning Center Reports to: Director of Adult Learning Center Date: October 8, 2026 General Summary: The Remote Learning Specialist works as an assistant instructor in the Zoom classroom. The Remote Learning Specialist assists the instructor with Adult Basic Education math instruction, and technology needs, while adhering to DESE ABE standards. The goal of students in these classes is to achieve their high school equivalency. The role includes facilitating small group work, and troubleshooting with students, including with technology. Remote Learning Specialists need to be proficient with Zoom and its features, as well as high school level mathematics in order to be of assistance to students and the instructor. This position is supported through federal grant funding. While the college is fully committed to the success of this program, continued employment in this role is contingent upon ongoing grant funding. Should federal funding change in the future, the position may be impacted.
