ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems serving roadway lighting, traffic signals, and municipal buildings and facilities
• Performs preventive maintenance on Electrical Division vehicles and equipment
.• Provides technical support and subject-matter expertise to the Facilities Superintendent.
• Maintains accurate inventory records for materials, tools, equipment, and supplies assigned to the division.
• Independently performs assigned electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work
• Prepares reports, records, and analyses related to electrical operations and activities
• Maintains a safe work environment by following applicable safety procedures, regulations, and established practices.
• Applies working knowledge of irrigation pumps, pump motor starters, and lighting contactors in the performance of assigned duties.
• Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots three-phase electrical systems.
• Programs, configures, maintains, tests, and troubleshoots traffic signal systems, including controllers, detection equipment, cabinets, communication networks, and associated electrical components, to support the safe and efficient operation of signalized intersections.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs low-voltage telecommunications and data cabling systems.
• Participates in training and professional development to remain current with applicable electrical codes, technologies, safety standards, and industry practices.
OTHER DUTIES:
• Responds to complaints and inquiries from the public regarding electrical problems
• Responds to emergency calls when necessary.
• Performs other related duties as required.
• Report and remain on duty before, during, and after hurricanes, severe weather events, or other emergencies; provide support from the Emergency Operations Center (EOC); and assist in the assessment, repair, and restoration of critical infrastructure and Village services following the event.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience:
• High school diploma;
• Prefer five (5) years progressively responsible experience as a Certified Journeyman Electrician, including commercial and service related electrical work, and
• Any related combination of training and experience.
The Village belongs to the Florida Retirement System (FRS) and a mandatory 3% from gross earnings is required to be contributed to the retirement plan.
Candidates must go through a Level II Background check, DMV, and Pre-Employment drug test. The Village is an EOE.
