Physical Demands
Predominantly sedentary work. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to sit for an extended time and operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Ability to review and prepare data on reports and computer screens and engage in extensive reading. At events there is some need to do transport, set-up and take-down of light materials such as literature, signs, etc. A cart will be provided for moving materials and supplies. Must be able to traverse campus to attend meetings and pick up time-sensitive or valuable items. Able to communicate with faculty, staff, and students who have inquiries. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. May require up to 5% travel and up to 15% nights and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Master’s degree required

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience. Relevant background in program management and advising. A minimum of 3 years of experience advising students in higher education. Experience in supervising and/or leading employees or teams. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Student-centered in advising students and a commitment to their educational development. Ability to utilize technology to support advising, recruitment, and program management. Detail oriented with strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and oral and written presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively with multiple audiences, such as students an families, staff, faculty, university administration, and donors. Ability to review and analyze processes and procedures and develop or adjust tools or resources while ensuring successful and efficient implementation. Self motivated with the ability to work both independently and with a team on complex projects. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and tact. General administrative skills and computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
