Job Summary
General Services Specialist supporting DCF's Central Region (Polk, Highlands, Hardee), handling facilities management, vehicle maintenance, warehouse operations, and emergency response support. This is a highly visible, independent role requiring courteous representation of General Services across multiple sites. May occasionally drive a state vehicle to other DCF sites during emergencies, with occasional overnight travel in the Suncoast Region during emergency management activities (hotel and meals/reimbursement provided).

Roles & Responsibilities
- Maintain and account for Personal Protection Equipment and DSNAP inventory/distribution systems
- Maintain state vehicle and other fleet vehicles per CFOP 40-2 Vehicle Management; submit monthly logs timely
- Maintain Emergency Response Vehicles & Trailers (ERV)
- Assist MASC with daily needs; witness weekly mail destruction
- Assist with internal/external department moves
- Manage employee key requests and keycard system logs for multiple sites
- Dispose of surplus materials/furniture per CFOP 80-2
- Supply employees with furniture and desks as needed
- Install whiteboards, corkboards, and pictures across regional offices
- Move large/heavy items (filing cabinets, desks) using proper hand dollies, following CFOP 215-4 Safety & Loss Control
- Assist IT with equipment moves during large relocations
- Ensure facility systems (AC, lights, etc.) are operating properly
Experience
- Supply/warehouse management experience – 1 year
- Fleet vehicle maintenance experience – 6 months
- Experience using handcarts/hand dollies to move heavy furniture and equipment – 6 months
- Experience with OSHA and safety regulations – 6 months
- Facility site inspection experience – 6 months
- IT equipment experience – 6 months
Key Skills
- Courteous, professional communication and representation
- Independent work with regular reporting to supervisors/team leaders
- Familiarity with Central Florida regions and GPS navigation
- Disaster Management support for facility/asset preparation
